Hello, bonjour, guten tag, greetings to you all. Thanks for stopping by from wherever you live in the world especially young people and children of all ages.

This website features ‘Timmy-Ollie’ who lives near Switchwick on Sea, a fictional town in the UK. Timmy-Ollie is a trolleybus, an environmentally friendly form of transport which is popular around the world but hasn’t been seen on the streets of Britain for over fifty years!

What’s a Trolleybus?

A Trolleybus is a powerful electric bus. Trolleybuses can be single or double deck, articulated or double articulated so they are effective at moving people around towns and cities. Trolleybuses originated, over 100 years ago, in central Europe and spread to Britain and across the former British Empire because they are fast, comfortable, smooth running and almost silent. Using mains electricity taken from an overhead line means trolleybuses are the environmentally alternative to diesel buses.

The British are famous for their “double deckers” and Timmy-Ollie is a double decker trolleybus. Timmy-Ollie, and his friends, plan to reintroduce you to the benefits of these powerful electric buses which have absolutely NO harmful emissions!

For children we have 86 FREE to download Timmy-Ollie short stories. All these stories are brand new, have never been told before, and are packed with the adventures of ‘Timmy-Ollie’ and his friends in sunny Switchwick on Sea.

Parents and educators will find astounding facts about today’s pollution levels caused, in part, by diesel powered buses, which will make you wonder why almost nothing is being done about it! You can learn how we arrived at today’s reliance on buses on the various pages around the site and we’d love everyone, especially children who enjoy the Timmy Ollie stories to get involved with our project.

Project Clean Air, through Better Bus Behaviour

Clifford BanksMy name is Cliff Banks and, because I feature in the Timmy-Ollie stories, I’d like to explain that something can be done about pollution and how you (yes YOU) can get involved! It will only cost a few pennies, it won’t take up much of your time, and it could change our environment for the better!

The more children, young people and educators learn about and understand the benefits of re-introducing trolleybuses the better and the message will spread to our elected representatives. If you live outside the UK and have trolleybus pictures, comments or thoughts to share about the benefits of trolleybuses please do get in touch.

Once awareness of the issues is raised to a level we feel can make a difference we propose an online petition to the government to discuss the issues in parliament. This would need at least one million supporters so it won’t happen overnight. In the meantime enjoy the stories, share them far and wide and talk trolleybuses so their return to our streets and cleaner air gets closer every day. If you enjoy reading the stories please consider making a donation to Orbis Flying Hospital (follow the link for details).

Thank you.
